Living Room - Check!

Today I did an impromtu re-org of the living room with the help of my buddy kk. This approach never occurred to me before; the angle thing. However, as we tried to set up a living room that allowed for more intimate conversation, without the tv as the focus, this is what happened! A new rug worked out well too - still looking for a smallish round coffee table to complete the look. A little keyholder table at the front door was another great add courtesy of the Fremont sunday market (though, for the first time in ages, I couldn't talk the guy down! :( Anyhow - the dining room is a tres expensive revision that will likely not happen for a while. So, the next thing is to bring the front bedroom into focus...or opt for a roommate. More to come.

Jenny

I babysat Baxter last night...well, that DVD player did most of the work, but his folks planned it to be that way. Anyhow, Baxter calls me "Jenny" - none of us are sure why though. His parents have always referred to me as "Auntie Jenn" but over the past few months, when they talked about me or he referred to a picture of him and me, he'd call me "Jenny." He doesn't have any Jenny's in his life at all!

Anyhow, he sure likes to use my name:
"Jenny, this movie is scary. Turn it off."
"Jenny, I need to take a break from dinner."
"Jenny, what are you talking about???"

So I asked him, "Bax, how come you call me Jenny?" He said, "That's your name, right?" - "Well, most people call me Jenn," ..."Ok, Jenny. My name is Baxter, not Bax." So there.

Perhaps he's an old Albionite reincarnated who knew me as a kid in his past life as Jenny?

Since you asked...

here's the new bedroom! i moved to the back room, which is warmer (literally and figuratively) and feels more private. i got the Calvin Klein bedding i was craving, it's called 'orchid' (see it close-up here), and splurged for the overpriced-but-gorgeous european shams...further, the dressing table is a new addition. found it on craigslist for a reasonable price, and it was exactly what i needed/what was missing. so, dining room, bedroom and essentially the kitchen are 100%. the living room has a pile of 'yard sale' items which i'm going to whittle down via craigslist and then goodwill the rest, but it's essentially done. as for the front bedroom...well, i just don't know what i want to do with it. my original plan for a tv room isn't going to work out. so, that one may take a bit.

Geez, people. Sorry for taking a break. Due to various complaints, I'm back now....
