today i went to my friend Barry's son's 1-year birthday party. it's funny because the kid has no clue what's going on, and really, it's all about celebrating the parents' survival of the first year...and the fact that the baby too survived unharmed. i couldn't decide between a baby gift for the kid, or champagne for his parents.
